Family Reunions in Al-Zabadani and Kafr al-Zayt

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Allah Almighty says:
“And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs (ties of kinship).”
(Surah An-Nisā’, verse 1)

The verses of the Qur’an and the Prophetic traditions have repeatedly urged maintaining family ties (ṣilat al-raḥim), encouraging believers in the strongest terms—both for spiritual reward and worldly benefit. Undoubtedly, a society whose members uphold kinship bonds and show compassion toward one another becomes an impregnable fortress and a steadfast stronghold. From such a society emerge cohesive families and a solid social structure that produces leaders, guides, thinkers, educators, preachers, and reformers—those who carry the torches of guidance and lamps of light to their nation and to all humanity.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his guest; whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him maintain ties of kinship; and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari)

Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“Whoever wishes for his provision to be increased and his lifespan extended, let him maintain ties with his relatives.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari)

From the very fabric of affection and love, sincere friendship and companionship grow—nourishing pure hearts with warmth and devotion, yielding bonds of loyalty and faithfulness even among strangers brought together by time and place. How much more deserving, then, are blood relatives—those who descend from the same roots and are united by the sacred ties of kinship?

We found the answer to this question in the gentle breezes of genuine love and heartfelt emotions that swept over us like soft, refreshing winds—quenching our longing and nurturing our yearning with righteousness, mercy, and the unbreakable bond of kinship.

The warmth of reception, the sincerity of emotion, and the genuine enthusiasm for familial unity were among the most prominent features of the visit by the Dalati family delegation from Homs to their relatives in both Al-Zabadani and Kafr al-Zayt.

This gathering embodied a firm desire and strong determination among all cousins to strengthen familial and social bonds, learn from one another’s experiences, and collectively elevate the family’s standing—scientifically, socially, and economically. Such positive development in relations among cousins, wherever they may be, undoubtedly brings immense benefits to all parties and to Syrian society as a whole.

The meeting was a resounding success on every level—where hearts truly met.

The words spoken—and even those left unspoken—reminded us of the words of Prophet Lut (Lot):
“If only I had power over you or could resort to a strong support!”
(Surah Hud, verse 80)
They also recalled the strength that lies in unity: a man’s power is magnified through his brothers, and their strength is fortified through him.

On behalf of all members of the Dalati family in Homs, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of these two gatherings. Special thanks go to:

  • All members of the Family Committee in Al-Zabadani, particularly Engineer Amer Al-Dalati, who coordinated the visit;
  • The esteemed elders of the Dalati family in Al-Zabadani;
  • Everyone who attended—may Allah grant them long, blessed lives;
  • Mr. Hisham Sulaiman Al-Dalati, Director of the Al-Zabadani Endowments Branch;
  • Mr. Ali Muhammad Dalati;
  • Mr. Ahmad Al-Dalati, attorney, in Kafr al-Zayt.

I ask Allah Almighty to benefit us with what He has taught us.
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
