With hearts full of faith in Allah’s decree, the Dalati Family Committee in Homs, along with all members of the family, mourns the passing of Sheikh Dr. Rami Dalati “Abu Hudhayfa,” who passed away in 2018 after a life rich in scholarship, service, and national commitment.

Sheikh Rami was one of Syria’s leading contemporary Islamic thinkers—a voice of moderation, reason, and compassion. He advocated for dialogue, rejected extremism, and promoted a balanced religious discourse rooted in ethics and intellect. He held various scholarly and advisory roles and was an active member of the Dalati Family House Committee in Homs, where he helped foster unity and support cultural and social initiatives.

He was known as a powerful speaker, a thoughtful writer, and a principled activist. During the Syrian revolution, he stood firmly with the peaceful movement, enduring imprisonment and hardship for his beliefs, yet never wavering in his moral stance.

Though Sheikh Rami has departed, his legacy lives on—in the hearts of those who knew him, in the minds of those who learned from him, and in the spirit of a family that honors his memory. May Allah envelop him in mercy, accept his deeds, and grant patience to his loved ones.
